Laurence Tremblay
Currently studying for a clinical master's degree in sexology at the Université du Québec à Montréal (UQAM), Laurence joins the CERC team as a psychotherapy trainee in September 2024. She obtained her bachelor's degree in sexology from UQAM in 2020, and is also a member of its professional order. She has been working in the helping professions for 5 years. She began as a counsellor at the CISSS de la Gaspésie youth center, working in three Gaspé rehabilitation units. This initial experience enabled her to develop professional skills with a young population presenting a variety of problems (relational trauma, behavioral disorders, mental health, intellectual disability, etc.).
Her regional adventure came to an end in the fall of 2021. On her return to the metropolis, she was hired by the Centre d'aide aux victimes d'actes criminels (CAVAC) de Montréal. Since then, she has worked there as an immediate intervention and police referral agent. She provides ad hoc crisis intervention for victims of various profiles (age, gender, type of victimization, history of violence, etc.). Between work and school, Laurence likes to stay active. She particularly enjoys fitness and the outdoors. She loves animals and dreams of the day when she'll adopt a dog to accompany her on hikes.
