Lyna Mariam El Haffaf

Neuropsychological report writer

Lyna is a third-year doctoral student in clinical neuropsychology (R/I) at the Université de Montréal. Passionate about human physiology and its link to behavior, she first obtained a bachelor's degree in biomedical sciences at McGill University, then a second in psychology at Université de Montréal. During her university career, Lyna had the opportunity to work with children, adults and the elderly. In particular, she completed a clinical internship with adults and worked with patients suffering from Parkinson's disease.

In addition to her clinical activities, Lyna is preparing a doctoral thesis on the role of excessive daytime sleepiness on cognition and brain morphology in Parkinson's disease. Through the use of artificial intelligence, she aims to develop a predictive model to identify patients at risk of developing this disease, and to make this model applicable in a clinical setting. Lyna is conducting this research project at the Research Centre of the Institut universitaire de gériatrie de Montréal, under the supervision of Dr. Alexandru Hanganu. She aspires to link her research to her clinical practice by promoting personalized neuropsychological care and improving early detection. Guided by her natural empathy for her patients, she aims to use the results of her research to improve their well-being.

Lyna balances work and play. She enjoys running, hiking in the woods and ice cream.
