Cédric Leroux-Boisvert
Cédric Leroux-Boisvert is in the process of obtaining a doctorate in psychology from the Université de Sherbrooke, and is practicing at CERC as an intern and candidate to the profession of psychologist under the supervision of Marie-Hélène Guay, psychologist. His training is specialized in working with children, adolescents and parents, but he also practices with adults. Cédric uses an eclectic and pragmatic approach, favoring an integrative approach that combines aspects of psychodynamic theories, 3rd wave CBT and the humanistic-existential current.
In addition to his psychology practice, Cédric is a member of the Board of Directors of the Association des psychothérapeutes psychanalytiques du Québec. He also worked for nearly 5 years in youth centers as a specialized educator with young people experiencing a variety of difficulties.
At CERC, Cédric offers psychotherapy services for the following issues: The relationship with oneself and others (self-esteem, self-confidence, existential questions and relationship difficulties), challenges to emotional regulation, anxiety and depressive symptoms, as well as conduct disorders and substance abuse. As part of his clinical practice, Cédric offers a "talking" approach to the search for meaning associated with psychotherapy. He attaches particular importance to providing a neutral, caring setting, and emphasizes the client's ability to mentalize.
